Old MacDonald Had a Farm

A few weeks ago I took our kids to the sweetest little farm. Having moved from Fielding, I thought my kids were used to farm life and that it would be no big deal, but I was WRONG! My kids absolutely LOVED the farm (more than I thought they would) and I had to drag them away kicking and screaming because they didn't want to leave.

Dax didn't really want to look at the camera because he was too busy looking at the chickens.

I'm pretty sure this little chicken coop made me really want chickens. Plus my kids could chase them all day long. Seriously. I didn't get many pictures of them because they chased chickens around for the first hour of our visit. I know they stink and poop all over, but if I had a coop like this we'd have chickens!

We found some really cool barn wood on the back of the little store.

Dax was obsessed with this rabbit. I was pretty sure it was going to bite his fingers off, but luckily it didn't. This rabbit was the size of little Dax and I secretly kept looking for a rabbit hole that would take us all to Wonderland.

Lexi really loves horses. She always has. For a while it was her goal in life to ride a real horse (and then she did). She found this bouncy rocking horse in one of the gardens and spent the rest of her time riding this.

Dax really loved the goats too. I was almost positive that he was going to get his fingers bit off this time. Despite my efforts to keep him away, he kept trying to put his fingers in the goats' mouths. Gross! But he giggled and giggled and the goats didn't eat him.

This was the darling little store on the farm. It was self-serve and run on the honor system. They sold milk, eggs, and veggies from the farm plus a bunch of other stuff. It reminded me of simpler times and how I wish that things weren't so complicated all the time.

Someday I think it would be really cool to have a cute little garden like this. I know it is a whole bunch of work, but I think it is darling!
